Aquaculture Workshop was held in our faculty...

The Aquaculture Workshop was held on 3rd of December, 2018 with the participation of all stakeholders of the sector hosted by Istanbul University Faculty of Aquatic Sciences.

The workshop participants were:

Mehmet Nuri YILMAZ (on behalf of the General Directorate of Fisheries And Aquaculture, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Agrıculture And Forestry), Atilla ÖZDEMİR (on behalf of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Turkey Regional Representative), Nedim YAZICIOĞLU (from the Akvatek Aqua Culture Inc. Company), Gökhan ÇAKIR (on behalf of the Ozsu Fish Aquaculture Inc. Company), Hüseyin YILDIRIM (the head of Muğla Trout Farmers Association), Tansu YAVUZ (on behalf of the Kılıç Inc. Company), Kemalettin EVİRGEN (on behalf of the Binbir Gıda Tarım Ürünleri Inc. Company), Hüseyin ÇAKIR (from Çakır Fishing), Fulya KARADEMİR (from Sağdıçlar Group), Gökhan YOLAÇ (from Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences), The head of the Fisheries Cooperative and the members, and academicians from other universities and also students.

The participants shared their opinions about our position and future in aquaculture world, aquaculture planning, production of alternative marine and freshwater species by development of hatchery, cage and other production management systems, developments and problemns on feed production, solution proposals, the need for engineers in aquaculture sector, students' career planning together with academia and private sector relations, the cooperation between private and public sector.

The workshop ended with general evaluation speeches.
